Purpose & implementation
An event-driven image pipeline
Built with Rejan Memeti during the M346 cloud module, this project connects Amazon S3, AWS Lambda, and Amazon Rekognition to recognise celebrities in uploaded images.
How it works
An image uploaded to an input S3 bucket triggers a Lambda function. The function calls Rekognition’s celebrity recognition API and writes the result as JSON to an output bucket.
Repeatable setup and testing
Shell scripts configure the buckets, Lambda function, event trigger, and required permissions. Test scripts exercise the image-processing flow and generate a test protocol.
The project explores cloud events, service integration, and repeatable command-line setup. It does not require a separate web interface.
